Empowering vulnerable youth through education and skills training
The Cameroon Vocational Training Center provides free, high-quality education and practical skills to disadvantaged children and orphans. Located in Mutengene, in the English-speaking region of Cameroon, the center offers a two-year training program in three key fields: industrial welding, carpentry, and metalwork. Our mission is simple: to give vulnerable youth the tools they need to build a brighter future.
What we do and why it matters
For many children in Cameroon, poverty, conflict, and social exclusion make education almost impossible. After primary school, countless boys and girls have no opportunity to continue learning—if they even complete primary school at all. Without education, these children face a lifetime of hardship, child labor, and early marriage.
Our project was founded over ten years ago by Patrick Marbele, driven by the belief that education can transform lives. We provide free vocational training that equips young people with practical skills and knowledge to become self-reliant. Students learn everything from identifying tasks and planning timelines to operating machinery and managing customer relationships. By the end of the program, they are ready to work independently and contribute to their communities.
What makes our center unique is its state-of-the-art equipment, unmatched anywhere in the country, enabling hands-on training in metal and woodwork. This ensures that graduates are not only skilled but also competitive in the job market.
